Membership
Your membership at Courageous allows you the freedom to sail on Boston Harbor and the surrounding waters whenever you like during the regular season. You'll receive the benefits of a yacht club with member events, regattas, night sails and much much more.
Membership Season: May 1st - October 31st
Hours of Operation: Courageous Sailing Center is open EVERY DAY during the season until sunset. We open at:
Noon on Monday through Friday
10 am on Saturday and Sunday
Membership Menu
Full
Our Full Membership gives you access to our whole Rhodes 19 fleet (29 boats!) Tuesday through Sunday, May 1st through October 31st. It is by far the best value on the harbor.
Family
The Family Membership is a great deal. For an extra $100, the whole family can share a full membership – and share the helm too!
Weekend
The Weekend Membership makes a lot of sense for anyone who knows that weekdays just don’t work. Come out on Saturdays and Sundays all season long!
Weekday
If you’ve got the freedom to sail during the week, a Weekday Membership may be your best bet, and they are very easy on the budget.
Monthly
Monthly Memberships make sense if you’ll be away for much of the season, or aren’t sure you want to commit to a full membership. Pick any 30-day period and sail all you want!
Half-Day
Our Half-Day option is great for out-of-town visitors who are looking for a little time on the water. It’s also a great option for anyone who’s not sure which membership is right for them and wants to come down and check us out! And the Half-Day is flexible: any 4-hour period while we’re open is fine with us.
J/22 Upgrade
The J/22 Upgrade gives any membership access to our fleet of eight J/22s for just $100 more. While we all love the Rhodes 19, there comes a time when you want to sail in a higher gear. The J/22 is a fast and highly responsive keelboat, built for speed and performance.
Cruising
For some of us, it’s all about the big boats, backup engines, and thoughts of sailing around the world. Our cruising fleet won’t take you quite that far, but it will take you beyond the Harbor and then some. Whether it’s packing picnic lunches and inviting friends and family for daytrips around the Harbor Islands, or plotting waypoints for a weekend trip to Gloucester or Cape Cod, our cruising fleet will inspire you to think big and sail far.
Corporate Membership
Our most flexible membership package ever! Memberships may be used by any employee at any time. An incredible benefit for year-round and summer staff with significant savings over multiple individual memberships. One, two or three boat corporate membership options available.
Availability
Because our fleets are so large, boats are usually available anytime you feel like sailing. But there are some limitations, as well as some times when it’s good to make a reservation in advance. On weekends during the season, it’s usually best to call ahead, especially for a J/22. Also, on weekdays during July and August, our youth program uses the boats before 3:30pm. Even so, with a reservation, we can usually secure you a boat anytime after 12pm during these months.
