J80 Spring Series

Description

Courageous Sailing is proud to present one-design J80 Spinnaker racing. This is high-performance sport boat racing at its best. Short-courses, high intensity, and some of the finest keelboat sailors that Boston has to offer. Spots are limited, we look forward to seeing you out there!

Before you pay for your team your entire team must be signed up and skippers must be approved by a member of our J80 Race management team. Significant racing experience is required, if you have not raced with Courageous before or you already completed the signup form and have yet to receive confirmation, please email Caitlyn@courageoussailing.org or Gordon at gordon@courageoussailing.org

All teams must complete the following steps before their registration is considered “Final”. If a team has not completed the steps below they may be subject to losing their spot.

1. All new teams must contact Caitlyn and cc Gordon, Leo, and Nate for pre-approval (Leo@courageoussailing.org & Nate@courageoussailing.org)
2. All approved or returning teams must complete the registration.
3. Review the NOR)
4. Payment must be submitted ($600 per boat/team for members* or $800 per boat/team for non-members)

*If at least the skipper of your J80 team is a Courageous Sailing member your are eligible for the “member” rate for your team

Dates

• Practice Day: Monday April 27, 2026
• Mandatory Skippers meeting for all competitors: May 4th 2026- 5:00pm
• Racing Series: May 4th – May 25th, 2026

Times

Mondays: April 27, May 4, 11, 18, 25

• 4:30pm Boats available for rigging
• 5:00pm Skippers Meeting
• 6:00pm First warning 
• 7:00pm Final race start

Waitlist

If you are unable to field a complete team, can not make a full payment at this time, or all 6 team spots have been allocated, please email Caitlyn@courageoussailing.org and ask to be placed on the waiting list. In the event a team drops out, waitlisted teams will be given the opportunity to claim the vacated team spot.
