Our programs for kids 8-18 use sailing as a platform to develop leadership skills, confidence, and hands-on science experience. Learning your way around a boat? That's just a bonus.

The Summer Youth Program registration lottery runs from 10 AM on February 1, 2024 until 5 PM on February 15, 2024.

Steps To Lead

Who needs sleepaway camp? Kids love our sequential summer program that they can come back to year after year, building on sailing skills and reconnecting with friends from the previous season.

Swim Sail Science

As our signature school partner program, Swim Sail Science is a no cost, invitation-only summer program for eligible Boston Public Schools students that includes sailing lessons, swimming instruction, and hands-on marine and physical science.

High School Sailing

Every fall, youth in grades 7 and up can join us at Pier 4 in Charlestown for our own after-school sailing program. In the spring season, Courageous hosts competitive high school sailing teams.

Lottery-Based Registration

Though more than 1,000 youth from the Boston area participating in Courageous programming each year, we always receive more applications than we are have spots to fill. We use a lottery system to offer the available spots as fairly as possible.
