There will be 22 team spots in the 2024 – 2025 edition of Courageous Frostbite Racing. Our 2023 and 2024 seasons were some of our most competitive seasons to date and hosted a full roster almost every week.  For this year, we expect to see many teams returning and new sailors joining in on the action. With that in mind, we’ll give preference to our frostbite veterans and complete* teams before opening to incomplete/partial season sign-ups.

* Complete: A “complete” team also includes consortium teams who self-organize. We’ll happily put teams looking for half- and quarter-shares on the waitlist, but need to keep our schedule-coordination role to a minimum.

Before you purchase a boat your entire team must be signed up and approved by a member of our Frostbite management team. Significant racing experience is required, if you have not raced with Courageous before or you already completed the signup form and have yet to receive confirmation, please email Caitlyn@courageoussailing.org,  Nate@courageoussailing.org .

All teams must complete the following steps before their registration is considered “Final”. If a team has not completed the steps below they may be subject to losing their spot.

  1. All new teams must contact Caitlyn or Nate for pre-approval.
  2. All approved or returning teams must complete the Registration.
  3. Payment must be submitted.
Drop-ins

We are happy to accept drop-in teams on weekends that our roster isn’t full. Email nate@courageoussailing.org to inquire about boat availability. Drop-in fees are:

  • $100 for Members
  • $120 for Non-Members

Any team joining us for more than 50% of the season is asked to pay full team dues.

Partial Payments

Due to high demand, we are unable to accept partial deposits to hold a spot. For self-organized consortium teams, a single representative is encouraged to make the payment in full. Exceptions can be made on a case by case basis, however, spots are not finalized until the full payment has been received.

Waitlist

If you are unable to field a complete team, can not make a full payment at this time, or all 22 team spots have been allocated, please email Caitlyn@courageoussailing.org and ask to be placed on the waiting list. In the event a team drops out, waitlisted teams will be given the opportunity to claim the vacated team spot provided that they make one full-share payment within 24 hours. After 24 hours, the second team on the waiting list will also be given an opportunity to claim the vacant team spot under the same premise that they may secure the spot only when full payment has been received. In each following 24 hour period, the next team on the waiting list will be invited to claim the vacant spot until the spot has been filled.
