If fast, friendly, easy-to-sail boats and Harbor Island cruising are calling your name, this is the membership for you! The Mid-Fleet Cruising membership gives you access to our four J80s and our Tanzer 26.

J80s have been a popular addition to the Courageous fleet and the fleet has grown to 4 boats. The J80s provide a versatile platform that is easy to sail, stable, and fast. The J80 has a very large cockpit, a high boom, a roller furling headsail, and can comfortably accommodate 6 adults. With excellent light air performance, as well as a 1400lb keel to provide stability in higher winds, the J80 is a modern performance boat that is as comfortable on a harbor cruise as it is rounding marks on a race course.

We strongly recommend taking the Performance 1 course or equivalent experience to best prepare members to pass the mid-fleet cruising checkout. Members interested in continuing their education and learning spinnaker work and harbor navigation are encouraged to take Performance Sailing 2.

Please note: Mid-Fleet Cruising memberships are seasonal and run from May 1 through October 31. Boats may be booked out in advance on a first-come / first-served basis – members are encouraged to make a reservation as weekend availability varies. Each member can have a maximum of two advance bookings at a time. Mid-Fleet Cruising memberships are available in full (7-day) or weekday (Monday-Thursday) options. Both include guest privileges and access to the Rhodes 19 fleet. The number of guests is limited to 5.
